2021 NFL Draft Preliminary Tight End List

After putting a bow on the 2020 NFL Draft with team-by-team recaps it is now time to look to the future. The 2020 college football season “should be” getting underway in a little over two months. When (if?) the season starts, Deep Fried Draft will be right there bringing you all of the things you are accustomed to seeing from me.

Like last year, I am entering the 2021 NFL Draft season with 300 names on my watch list.

Today, we are going to look at the TEs. These players will be listed only by class and not in any sort of official ranking.

2021 Preliminary Tight End List

Matt Bushman BYU Sr 6’4 245
Tony Poljan Central Michigan Sr 6’7 235
Zach Davidson Central Missouri Sr 6’7 245
Noah Gray Duke Sr 6’4 240
Trey McKitty Georgia Sr 6’5 245
Shaun Beyer Iowa Sr 6’4 244
Chase Allen Iowa State Sr 6’6 240
Jamal Pettigrew LSU Sr 6’6 258
Nick Eubanks Michigan Sr 6’5 256
Cary Angeline NC State Sr 6’6 254
Luke Farrell Ohio State Sr 6’5 250
Nick Muse South Carolina Sr 6’3 232
Josh Falo Southern Cal Sr 6’5 250
Josh Pederson UL-Monroe Sr 6’5 232

The senior class is light on star power but has multiple intriguing options. Matt Bushman had the potential of a Top 100 player a year ago. His decision to return to BYU sets him up to be the top senior TE. Tony Poljan (Central Michigan) and Josh Pederson (UL Monroe) are two Group of Five players I want to see more of.

Kyle Pitts Florida Jr 6’6 239
Peyton Hendershot Indiana Jr 6’4 250
Charlie Kolar Iowa State Jr 6’6 252
Brevin Jordan Miami (FL) Jr 6’3 245
Jeremy Ruckert Ohio State Jr 6’5 250
Pat Freiermuth Penn State Jr 6’5 256

The junior class is where the star power lies in this tight end group. Kyle Pitts, Brevin Jordan, and Pat Freiermuth all have an argument to be the top-rated TE in the 2021 class. Charlie Kolar isn’t that far behind them. It will be a joy to see who separates from the pack.

Next up, we look ahead to the 2021 OT class.
