2020 NFL Draft: Pre-Combine LB Rankings

The 2020 NFL Draft season is in full peak. We have made it through the Senior Bowl and we are now fast approaching the Scouting Combine.

No score is final because of the lack of athletic testing data. This data will come after combine and pro days are completed.

Today, we will look at the linebackers. I have watched tape on 28 LB prospects to this point.

TOP GUYS

Isaiah Simmons is the ultimate defensive chess piece. Simmons can play linebacker, he can rush from the edge, he can line up as a nickel corner, or he can play safety. He should put on a show at the Combine. If you draf Simmons, your team gets better.

Kenneth Murray is a sideline-to-sideline defender. He is a phenomenal athlete and is highly productive.

LBs I LIKE MORE THAN MOST

Akeem Davis-Gaither is a defensive chess piece like Simmons only smaller. ADG always finds himself in position to make plays.

Evan Weaver has probably been the most productive linebacker in CFB over the last two seasons. He is likely going to test poorly so his final grade will be lower.

LBs I LIKE LESS THAN MOST

The lack of top-level production has me much lower on Patrick Queen than the consensus. If he tests well, Queen should rise higher than his current spot.

LATE ROUND PROSPECTS TO TAKE A FLIER ON

Davion Taylor is the same style of a player as Isaiah Simmons and ADG but with lesser tape. Michael Divinity may go undrafted because of a handful of red flags. However, I expect him to make a team.

Next time out, we will look at the cornerbacks.
