The 2020 NFL Draft season is in full peak. We have made it through the Senior Bowl and we are now fast approaching the Scouting Combine.
Over the next couple of weeks, I will be releasing my Pre-Combine position rankings. No score is final because of the lack of athletic testing data. This data will come after combine and pro days are completed.
Today, we will look at the cornerbacks. I have watched tape on 32 CBs to this point.
|11||1||Jeffrey Okudah||Ohio State||Jr||6’0||199||9||9||6.75|
|19||2||Cameron Dantzler||Mississippi State||Jr||6’2||175||8.5||10||6.6|

|194||22||Trajan Bandy||Miami (FL)||Jr||5’9||188||7.25||9||5.7|
|201||23||Charles Oliver||Texas A&M||Sr||6’1||196||7.2||9||5.67|
|224||25||Jaron Bryant||Fresno State||Sr||5’11||175||7||9||5.55|
|253||29||Zedrick Raymond||Miami (Ohio)||Sr||6’0||181||7||8||5.4|
|289||31||Essang Bassey||Wake Forest||Sr||5’9||193||6||10||5.1|
Okudah is a lockdown corner that can eliminate one side of the field. Like former Buckeyes Shawn Springs and Marshon Lattimore, Okudah looks destined for NFL stardom. Dantzler is tremendous in man-to-man. He has excellent ball skills. Despite only weighing 175 pounds, Dantzler will get his nose dirty.
CBs I LIKE MORE THAN MOST
Kindle Vildor was the most impressive cover corner I saw in person this year. He has quick hips and decent ball skills. Vildor has a swagger about him and a short memory. He more than held his own during Senior Bowl practices. Vildor will likely go on early day three but I think he has NFL starter potential.
CBs I LIKE LESS THAN MOST
Essang Bassey gets love in some draft circles. However, outside of Shea Patterson, I do not think there was a worse player during Senior Bowl week than Bassey. Every time you looked up a WR was running by him. He probably shouldn’t be drafted.
LATE ROUND PROSPECTS TO TAKE A FLIER ON
Stantley Thomas-Oliver impressed me with his coverage skills in the Camellia Bowl against Arkansas State’s dynamic WR duo. He uses his length well. STO should come off the board late on day three but I think he can make an early impact.
Next time out, we will look at the safeties.
